The ducklings are starting to get lovely glossy feathers now.
Mike has dug in their new pond (sandpit from Argos). After 3 days they have ignored it totally. He has taken it personally and is threatening to withdraw their privileges.

Spike update

I picked Spike up yesterday. He looks as though he has gone 3 rounds with Mike Tyson but is a lot happier than when the eye was still there and injured.
His main problem this morning is that Boogie wants the bed Spike is in, which is identical to his! He will be on cattery duty [...]

Spike had an operation this morning to remove his eye. It had ruptured and he could no longer see with it. He is less likely to suffer pain and further complications with it removed. Depending on how he settles I will pick him up either this afternoon or tomorrow.

Veg Garden

This part of the garden is now rotovated and the beds are marked out ready to be edged with boards. The paths will be bark chippings on weed barrier fabric. Boogie is already patrolling the paths and staying off the beds. He’ll be disappointed when it gets fenced off.

Boogie and Spike have been fascinated by the ducks but have got far more excited over the ducklings. The ducklings still have little high pitched squeaks rather than quacks. Easter in the cattery has been very busy. We were almost full and I fed 38 cats yesterday. It has been lovely to have all the penthouse doors open to the sunshine. Lots of happy, relaxed, sunbathing cats.
